She did it her way…and it’s beautiful!
This Big Sister was made by Caroline Dillabough. She bought this pattern several years ago to make for her new grandson’s room. Her method of construction is explained as follows: “I didn’t trim the applique pieces and I butted them tight together. Then I covered the joins with 1/2″ bias tape, making sure that all cut ends tucked under the strips where they joined.” Caroline also added, “I absolutely LOVED making this one. It is a gorgeous pattern. I’ve moved a couple times, since I made it, and I managed to lose the pattern, so I have re-ordered it.” (I like that! ~Anita)
In the Making…
Just wanted to share the result of our class this weekend. It’s not stitched yet, but here’s one student’s version that’s fused. Striking!

A Worthy Cause…
My name is Denise Lockwood and I made one of your patterns called “Little Sister”. I would like to donate this to a local charity called Rainbow of Hope. This charity raises money for our local Hospice. I made it in pinks to represent breast cancer.
The big sister pattern I am keeping. ~ Denise Lockwood
Another By Laura!
My sister-in-law saw the owl I made for my granddaughter and wanted one for her granddaughter for Christmas. She likes blue and green. He turned out pretty cute. ~Laura Arnold
Outstanding!
Instead of sewing around the pieces, I covered her in black illusion and had [my quilter] quilt through to secure the pieces. ~ Mary Beth Beene
What an excellent idea! And, this technique could be used on any of my designs! By the way, I LOVE this quilt! ~ Anita
